Missouri Hunter Jumper Organization (MOHJO) held its awards party on January 29, 2023

In celebration and culmination of a year spent horse showing, Missouri Hunter Jumper Organization (MOHJO) held its awards party on January 29, 2023. With enrollment numbers at the highest levels since the organization was formed in 2002, this year’s party had been called the best ever by several members. Awards were given based on points accumulated over the duration of the competition year for horses and riders that had been nominated or held memberships. Three high point awards were given for top Jumper, Hunter and Equitation winners as well as divisional ribbons. An additional SPortsmanship Award was given to one junior rider and one adult rider, voted on by MOHJO board members who felt that rider exemplified good horsemanship and fellowship towards others. In an evening where Missouri equestrians were treated to a fabulous taco bar dinner and a silent auction, the night culminated with the presentation of the Stacey Wright Perpetual Trophy. This award, named for a well known and loved horsewoman, was received by Melissa Mihalevich for her dedication to the horse community. Melissa has been a staple member of the equestrian community in the St. Louis area as well as serving the many students at Truman University in Kirksville, MO.

MOHJO serves to promote the hunter/jumper sport in Missouri and the Metro East area of Illinois with a mission to promote competitions, tracking points and recognize achievements.
